HELLO, Today I am going to tell you about the Chicago and Northwestern Railway.
The Chicago and Northwestern Railway was first named the Galena & Chicago Union railway, and was made in 1836. It was the first railway to reach Chicago, IL in 1848. It changed its name in 1859 to the Chicago and Northwestern Railway. The CNW was one of Chicago's major railway services. The railway had a big terminal in Chicago that served Northwestern's long -distance trains, and also their commuter trains. One the railways most famous passenger trains, where the famous 400s service. It served a line from Chicago to the twin cites (St. Paul and Minniapolis ) The CNW strived until it became part of the Union pacifc railroad in 1995.
